As summer approaches, we love to share a special day with families, whether or not they belong to our preschool. This year's gathering will focus on strengthening the sense of community, participation, and togetherness, and enjoying a family day out with workshops, a delicious meal, and a pleasant atmosphere. We'll start at 11:00 am and the festivities will continue until 3:30 pm.
Workshops for children,from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m:
- Container garden: we're going to plant seeds in yogurt cups. This way we learn to recycle simple items and see the process of a plant growing from seed.
- Clay modeling: working with your hands promotes the development of skills and motor skills. Plus, the texture and smell of clay are so pleasant!
- Decorated stones: we transform an abundant element in nature into a unique piece, full of the beauty that children create when they can use their creativity freely and without constraints.
- Naturaldolls: With the older children, we will make simple dolls like the ones we use at school, made with natural and warm fabrics such as wool, felt, or t-shirt yarn. Developing an activity that results in a personal creation is very rewarding for children.
- Body painting: a creative expression that allows us to become aware of our own bodies and their movements. This type of craft facilitates sensory integration, self-knowledge, and is also great fun!
Parents can also participate in two very interesting workshops:
- 11:30 a.m. – Movement and art (maximum 10 people): our body is a powerful channel for learning processes and in this workshop we will give ourselves the opportunity to reconnect with it, with our physical self, through artistic expression.
- 14:30 h – Yoga en familia (máximo 10 personas): un taller divertido y creativo con el que podemos fortalecer los lazos entre padres e hijos. Aprendemos a respirar mejor, concentrarnos, relajarnos y ¡mucho más!
Since all this activity is sure to work up an appetite, we've planned to treat everyone to paella and a barbecue. We'll also have a small, free café with delicious sweets made by the parents of the school.
And to end the day, the little ones can join in a puppet show that we will do in one of our classrooms: nothing better than ending a great day with a beautiful story.
Entry to the event is free. Remember that our daycare is located at Calle Hidra, nº3, 28023, in Aravaca, near Pozuelo de Alarcón. All children's activities cost €5, as do the adult activities (although you can participate in just one, in which case the cost is €3). The proceeds will go towards paying for the materials used in each workshop.
